PaL – Pennsylvania Leadership

A youth advisory board is well underway to enhance Pennsylvania’s Independent Living (IL) program. This group of youth, PaL – Pennsylvania Leadership, was originally created to assist in the state’s annual retreat held for one week in August. To better serve the foster care and former foster care population, PaL will increase their responsibilities in some of the following areas:

• Participation in the IL workgroup and subcommittees;
• Participation in the IL Management Team; and
• Producing materials or instruction designed by youth to be used by foster care youth. Increased CFCIP funds for Pennsylvania have offset costs incurred and allowed for the employment of a part-time staff person to coordinate PaL youth activities and outreach.
