Where Do Your Tax Dollars Go?
Welcome to the Department of Public Welfare Open Government page. As responsible stewards of taxpayer money, we are committed to providing an open and transparent government, this includes how your hard-earned tax dollars are being used. Our primary goal is to maximize every dollar we spend, making sure our programs are working effectively and efficiently to help the truly needy Pennsylvanians. Recently, we created the Office of Program Integrity, to weed out all waste, fraud and abuse in the department and to bring back integrity to our programs and services.
The links in the table below will direct you to different programs and services provided by the department. Our goal is to give you a clear picture of what the Department of Public Welfare does, and to show accountability for every dollar spent.
